Good Monday All!

2020 is here and while January lasted for 6 years we finally are nearing the middle of February and spring is in sight! In Arizona Spring and Winter can be indistinguishable except for the lovely allergies that Spring brings. Warmer weather, if you can call Arizona Winters cold, wild flower yards in bloom, and the snow birds are out and about. As the days get longer we start to look to refreshing our homes. Have you been staring at your bathroom all winter wondering how it could be new? I ask because that's how I spend my mornings. Staring at my small bathroom wondering how I could make this small daily used space into something more than it is. You might be wondering why I spend so much time thinking about this and perhaps even wondering if I have a boring life. Your concern is touching, truly, but I'm not in terminal boredom. I am cursed by my trade, everyday we make people's bathrooms into the most beautiful spot in their home. When your own home is severely lacking...well. You tend to dwell. Such is life but to that end I spend a lot of time imaging how your bathroom could also benefit. Have you seen the latest and greatest and wonder how YOU could have that? Let me help me you make your bathroom day dreams come true and I'll just love vicariously through you. Sound good? I thought so.

Here is a product that excites us and we wish to share with you.

Quartzite. Now we know that product names like granite and marble are familiar to most people but quartzite might seem unfamiliar. Or perhaps you conjure an image of Quartz products like Cesar Stone or Silestone. In any case let's do a little briefing.

Quartzite is a natural product coming from the Earth like granite, marble, travertine, or any natural stone that comes to mind. Quartzite is a sandstone that is comprised of primarily quartz, a rock that has a crystalline structure and part of what makes granite so hard. Being that granite is a heterogeneous mixture of multiple rocks so the hardness of granite can vary, but Quartzite is primarily quartz so it is fairly uniform in it's hardness. There is a further in depth explaining of Quartzite on Geology.com and the link to there particular article will be available at the bottom of this post. So what after all that, what we know is that Quartzite is a very hard product suitable to fabrication and use in the home. On top of its durability is the beauty of Quartzite. Ranging from white to grey blues, coppers and pinks, it is a beautiful product. Unlike granite that can be deep solid blacks and extremely dense in color Quartzites tend to be more on the transparent side with streaks of colors, some broad strokes and solid colors but with that transparency. A classic color is Taj Mahal, a light colored slab with tans and creams. The color is classic and elegant. Cline's has access to this beautiful color in both slab and Quartzite tile. Typically quartzite tiles are either very sandstone esk, or the thickness of slabs but the beautiful product we have access to is thin like a standard tile and as beautiful as ever. An image of some of that tile is below compared to a beautiful slab of Taj Mahal at The Stone Collection in Phoenix.

left is tile, right is slab from The Stone Collection

So we hope this has been informative and if you have any questions about what we carry, work with, or just any questions at all. Please call us at 623-516-1516.

We will continue this series and education on our products so stay tuned!
